Q: I really appriciate spending the time here even it is short term but I could have a very valuable experience. I worked at a local cafe. It is my first time to work in English environment. At the first time, I was not comfortable. Because of language barrier. But I used to be getting better little by little. My job mates encouraged me to say "You are so good!" with seeing my eyes. It made me to courage to continue there. I was so glad to believe me. And I also learned that I should always be calm, honest and enjoy any time even I could't do perfect. It's just only ME. When I realized about that, I didn't scare to stand in front of the till anymore. The most of things are gonna be better. I didn't want forget to support for me by all friends=jobmates! 聼起來自然嗎?

Q: I'd really appriciate it if you could tell me the difference between college and university.
A: In the U.S. "college" is any almost school of higher education beyond high school. It includes universities and institutes. We use it as a general term for almost any two-year (junior college ) or four-year (college/university) where you will receive a degree upon completion. Colleges are usually (but not necessarily) smaller schools than universities and are mostly undergraduate programs. The term "university" usually implies a college that is made up of many specialized graduate "schools" such as "law school" or "medical school" or "engineering school" that are much more than merely "departments". These are advanced studies schools where you can get a Masters or Doctorate degree.

In countries like the UK or Australia, a "university" is a class of school above a "college" and they often are almost insulted when asked "what college do you go to?" - whereas in the U.S. we always use "college" to also include "universities" and we would (almost) never say "I went to university at ~ " or "when I was at university,...." We don't make that distinction between the two. It sounds a little elitest. Many of the best schools in the U.S. are "colleges". In many U.S. universities, their specialty schools are called "colleges" (college of law, college of political science, etc.). In Harvard University, their liberal arts school is called "Harvard College"

I find it rather amusing that Brits and Aussies get pissed off if we don't make that distinction, so I always make it a point to ask them where they went to college.
