A: To guarantee/affirm something. Has a sense of comforting someone.

"I assured her it would be okay." = "I comforted her, telling her it was okay."

"I can assure you I'll pay you back." = "I guarantee I'll pay you back."

"Rest assured, I'll be there tomorrow." = "I guarantee I'll be there tomorrow."

"Can you assure me you'll pay for the whole thing?" = "Can you promise me you'll pay for the whole thing?"

A: "Assure" = convince someone that it is fine

"I assure you, your order will be delivered on Tuesday or you will get your money back!"

"Ensure" = make sure that it will happen.

"I will ensure the package gets there if I have to deliver it myself!"

"Reassure" = make someone feel better when they are worried

"The customer called me on Monday because she was worried the package would not arrive. I reassured her by giving her the tracking number."
