A: categorize means to put something into groups. classify is how you decided to make those groups.

A: if you pigeonhole something that means classifying it into a category that's too exclusive or rigid. If someone plays multiple instruments calling him just a guitar player neglects his work on other instruments. Pigeonhole can also mean that you're holding it of until the future.
