A: Another way of saying "political correctness" might be "non-offensive speech." For example, someone might wish to be called "differently abled," rather than "handicapped."

This is very controversial in the US. People who are more Conservative believe that political correctness prevents direct communication. People who are more liberal believe that it creates a more inclusive environment.

It is a constant source of conflict between these groups.

Q: On political correctness.

Is it ok to use neutral terms such as 'camera person' (instead of 'cameraman') or 'stunt person' (instead of 'stuntman') in rather ~formal~ contexts?

I do see these on the internet a lot, but I'm afraid that in real life conversations I might be misunderstood, especially by the elderly.

Moreover, this turn of phrase may sound like a mockery / ignorance, because these are mostly neologisms, aren't they?
A: Yes, it's fine to use them in formal contexts. In some offices/work places it might be preferred, because it has become popular for companies to try and demonstrate that they aren't discriminating based on gender. More likely, people wouldn't mind either way, so you could use person or man.

There will of course be a few people who are super anti 'political correctness', who might get funny with you if you say person rather than man.

Basically, I'd say most people won't have strong feelings either way if you say "person" or "man". And there'll be some people who will prefer if you say one rather than the other.
Q: What is political correctness & why some ppl complain about it? Is it neutral?
A: It's avoiding hate speech. The phrase itself has a negative connotation, so the only people who use it are those who want to use hate speech
Q: “political correctness is euphemistic way of saying” 聼起來自然嗎?
A: “political correctness is a euphemistic way of saying”
Q: correctness isn't important at all. 聼起來自然嗎?
A: Oh,I see! Thank you!
