Q:

Q:
"His credibility is shot"是什麼意思
A:
His credibility is ruined/destroyed. It's a bad thing for him.
Q:
maintaining his credibility for being left out of the loop by the West Wing.是什麼意思
A:
the West Wing is the section of the white house that contains offices for the White House Chief of Staff, the Counselor to the President, the Senior Advisor to the President, the White House Press Secretary, and their support staffs.
"while maintaining his credibility for being left out of the loop by the West Wing." <----- this means that Mike Pence has been saying that the West Wing (all the people who work for the president in the west wing) has not told him information about Flynn speaking to the Russian Ambassador. If Pence knew Flynn was speaking with the Russian Ambassador, then he would be lying when he says he was out of the loop, which would make him lose credibility.
If Robert Mueller's investigation proves Pence did know about Flynn's conversation with the Russian Ambassador, he would not be able to maintain his credibility (because he would have lied).
I hope that makes sense. If you need further explanation I can give it to you.

Q:
credibility 和 reliability 的差別在哪裡?
A:
@tjstkdn1 Yes!
Q:
credibility 和 reliability 的差別在哪裡?
A:
Credibility: related to truth. Having credibility means that you can be trusted to tell the truth.
"This speaker has good credibility, he has many awards"
"She is credible, she has written may papers on the subject"
Reliability has to do with dependability. It can refer to trust as well ("She can keep a secret, she's reliable") but can also refer to other good qualities, such as showing up to work on time, being a good friend, or performing expected duties. It basically means being there when other people need you. It can also refer to objects (if your car performs well and takes you to work every day, it is reliable)

Q:
credibility 和 reliability 和 integrity 的差別在哪裡?
A:
Credibility is almost like the value of someone's words. If someone is credible, it means they know what they're talking about, and their words can be trusted.
Reliability is just if you can rely on someone meaning they'll have your back. If someone helps you when you need it most, they're reliable.
~Overall credibility usually refers to words and reliablity usually refers to actions.
I'm not too sure about integrity myself, so I can't help you with that.

Q:
What does "it's not worth the credibility hit on AGI" in this sentence mean?
If people are going to see it, it's not worth the credibility hit on AGI, since nobody would know why I was doing that.
---------For context------------
Prson1: Please note: There seems to be a campaign to FAKE the story that AI alignment theorists advocate violence. Everyone remember: *WE* never say this, it is *THEM* who find it so useful to claim we do - who fill the air with talk of violence, for their own political benefit.
Apparently necessary clarification: By "violence" I here mean individuals initiating force. I think it's okay for individuals to defend their homes; I still want police officers to exist, though I wish we had different laws and different processes there (and have written at length about those); I've previously spoken in favor of an international ban on gain-of-function research, which means that I favor, in principle, the use of police action or even military force to shut down laboratories working on superpathogens; and if there was an international treaty banning large AI training runs, I'd back it with all my heart, because otherwise everyone dies.
Person2: Would you have supported bombing the Wuhan center studying pathogens in 2019?
Person1: Great question! I'm at roughly 50% that they killed a few million people and cost many trillions of dollars. If I can do it secretly, I probably do and then throw up a lot. If people are going to see it, it's not worth the credibility hit on AGI, since nobody would know why I was doing that. I can definitely think of better things to do with the hypothetical time machine.

A:
"AGI" is Yudkowsky's term, "artificial general intelligence". I don't follow Yudkowsky or LessWrong, so I don't know how that's distinct from what everyone else calls AI.
I think he's saying that it wouldn't be worth it to attack or destroy a company developing an AI, because people would not understand why he was doing it. The harm to his reputation as a person who talks about artificial intelligence would not be worth it.

A:
Normally, "to afford" means to have the means to buy something (e.g. have enough money). In this figurative usage of the word, it means Stein has the means to have credibility with the prosecutors.
Credibility = ability to be trusted, perception of being trust-worthy. To afford credibility = to receive trust in exchange for some quality one has.
So in effect what this is saying is that Stein has the means to receive trust from the prosecutors. "There" in the end refers to the Southern District.
