Q: ITV SPORT, BBC SPORT etc... why are they not "SPORTS"?

A: Sport can be either a countable or uncountable noun.

How much sport did you do when you were at school?
How many sports did you compete in at the school sports day?

The first example is asking 'how much', which could be measured in terms of the total amount of time spent doing sport, whether that's one sport or many sports.

The second asks about the number of different types of sport that the listener did at school. That would be answered with a number of different types of sports.

It seems that ITV Sport, BBC Sport, and Sky Sports are using the two different concepts (or two variations of a concept) that I give above.
