"Keen"的近義詞和區別

Q: keen 和 want 的差別在哪裡?
A:
keen is to be excited to do something or excited about doing something

Want is a more common and general word, it is just what you want to do/have/etc

“I am keen to go on holiday”
Basically means the same as “I am excited to go on holiday”

“I want to go to the movies”
Q: keen on 和 fond of 的差別在哪裡?
A: Fond of is when you love or deeply passionate about something. Keen on is the same but there are occasions where one of these sounds wierd in a given context. For me, i use "fond of" when i already like something. I use "keen on" when i like something that just happened or for something that will happen in the future.
for example, if you really like strawberry icecream, and you want to tell someone that you love it, you can say i am fond of strawberry icecream.
But if you are trying this flavour for the first time and you like the taste, you can say i am keen on this flavour; i am quite keen on this.

If you say "I am fond of using acrylic paint" it shows that you love using this medium but, if you say "I am keen on using acrylic paint" it shows that you want to use it.
Q: keen 和 interested 的差別在哪裡?
A: Interested is much much more popular. If someone said "keen" I would think they were joking or being sarcastic most of the time. Maybe it’s more common to say in the south. They are similar though but I’d say keen is more like “like”.

He’s keen on her = he likes her

He’s keen on running his mouth = he likes to run his mouth = he likes to talk a lot and say negative things

He’s always been keen on the idea of moving to Kentucky = he’s always wanted to move to Kentucky = he’s always been interested in moving to Kentucky
Q: I'm not really keen on ~~
和 I'm not a big fan of ~~ 和 I'm not really fond of ~~ 的差別在哪裡?
A: They mean the same thing.

They're just different ways of saying that you don't like something.
Q: keen on 和 like 的差別在哪裡?
A: @LinguistQ

Like they said^^^

Keen on is used for interests.

Like is also, but is more often applied to people.

I'm keen on Stacy. (Sounds colorful, smooth)

I like Stacy. (very common, used more than any other way)

You can say keen on but its not what you would hear usually.
