I think physicists are amazing and should be respected and recognized by everyone. These experts have contributed to the comprehension of what surrounds us and to the advancement of applied science.

A: moonlight and on_the_side have the same meaning. one expresses it as a verb, and the other as an adverbial phrase. use one or the other.

"....but I also moonlight as a computer technician."

I prefer the second one since it is similar to the first part of your sentence.
