sexagenarian, septuagenarian, octogenarian..etc. What situations or contexts do these terms typically appear in? Do they appear in conversations?
A:
I have only heard octagenarian and nonagenarian in conversation when people talk about 80 year olds in general or 90 year olds in general. The other terms (sexagenarian, septuagenarian) may also be used in academic writing but they are so rare that I was not even sure the name for 70 year olds and I looked it up in Google (you are right).
Examples:
I have found that nonagenarians are not afraid of death. Most of their peers have died so they are ready to die.
Octagenarians have higher risks from covid than younger people. More of them die when they get a severe case of covid.
