In Istanbul, Taksim is the number one place to visit. Its very common to visit for tourists. You can visit in Europe side Ortaköy, Beşiktaş and asia side is Kadıköy, Çengelköy, Üsküdar, Kız kulesi(girl tower is a island in the middle of bosphorus and its restaurant), there is a lot of museum place to visit too. If you ask me i think getting lost is the best way of travelling :)
