有關 英語 (美國) 的問題
When you hear "Kate did not go to college until she was married to Jack", what comes to your mind? Did she surely go to college after marriage? Or, it just means Kate had never gone to college at the time of marriage and no one knows what happened to her education background after the marriage ?

What comes to mind:
Kate had never went to college, but went to college after she married Jack.
Perhaps she was waiting until after her marriage with Jack to start going to college.
Or maybe she was inspired, by Jack, to go to college.

I agree; when you say "(Event 1) did not happen until (Event 2)", that means that Event 1 DID happen, but it happened after Event 2—and usually the two events are related in some way. Not always, though.
Example of related events:
"John and Anna did not have children until they got married."
Example of unrelated events:
"The credit card was not invented until after World War 2."

@moccacino don't use "had went" though, as that isn't a correct conjugation of to go. one would say "had gone"
