Borrow means “give something to someone for a short time, expecting that you will get it back.”Lend means “get something from someone, intending to give it back after a short time”Basically, when you give something, you lend it; when you get or receive something, you borrow it.Hope I helped :)

For example you could say:Can I borrow your dictionary but NOT Can I lend your dictionary ?

Firstly, your first example is grammatically incorrect. It should actually be, "Can I borrow some money ?". Secondly, they basically mean the same thing - you are asking for money !
However, in the first example, you are the subject of the borrowing process. Whereas in the second example, you are the object of the lending process.
