For parts of the University you call "schools" I think we would say "college".
Courses will be recognised as electives when:
1) you take more than 30 credits from your specialized program course in your college,
2) you take other courses from your college, and
3) you take courses in other colleges of the university, except for the school of engineering.
(I'm not quite sure what 1 means though.)

(I'm not quite sure what 1 means though.)

@Igirisujin: Thank you:) 1 mean, there are several specializations in one college, e.g. Japanese linguistics course and English linguistics course in Modern language school, and students are required to earn at least 30 credits from their specialized course. It's compulsory. If students earn more than 30 credits from the specialized courses, these credits will be automatically counted as electives.
