I think that the younger generation has higher standards than the older generations. Additionally, the older generations in Japan are used to having better pay and different working conditions from before Japan's economic bubble burst in the 1990's.

what's ”higher standards” means? is that, for instance, long time working or low wages?
besides, do you think not only youth but the older generations are faced with difficult situation?

I don't know how to explain "higher standards", sorry. Basically they want better.

The older generation is also faced with a difficult situation, however I feel that they are used to a different way of doing things from before the economy went bad.
