I don't know how I should do in order to have my conversations with foreigners fun.
I was shocked that an English language teacher(American) said to me '' Why is your conversation one way? '' At that time I mostly only gave a nod to what he spoke.
l think American people are good at developing topics. But I can't, as paying attention not to go into his private and also being shy and not outgoing.
Could you give me some advices?

There is no "Easy" way to have a conversation with a foreigner in any conversation. But from personal experience I recommend you try talking about someone's interest or your own interest first so both of you can develelop a bond.
