properly, correctly = adverbs
proper, correct = adjectives
correct = sin errores

proper = en la manera correcta

For example if you said "Barcelona is the capital of Spain" I would say "that is not correct". "proper" would sound totally wrong here.
If you wore a t-shirt to a formal wedding I would say "that is not proper". You could also say "that is not correct" but "proper" sounds better.
