Meet is usually used for a person.
I met a new friend yesterday.
Find is when you locate something you've been searching for.
I found my keys that I lost.

@xiaobai54688: You are correct but that would not be used very often. It would be more common to say you found something if you searching for it. :)

@jujubeans13: My whole sentence is: Beauty is found everywhere, but a lack of discovering - found a large beautiful painting in the corner. So which words is more appropriate to instead of found in this sentence?

@jujubeans13: beauty is found found everywhere but lack of discovering. I found a large painting in the corner. Means the painting always on the wall but I never noticed it, one day I suddenly found it and feel it's very nice.

For example, maybe: Beauty is found everywhere but I did not know that as every day I passed by the large, beautiful painting in the corner.
