Hi guys, can you please help me to correct this text? Thank you
Dear Sir,
I am writing to convey my opinion regarding the coverage given to celebrities in my country, and the effect that such coverage has in their lives.
First and foremost, I would like to highlight the fact that celebrity culture has pervaded many sectors of society including, business, publishing and even academia. It is crystal clear that celebrities do not become famous overnight. Only by working hard and with dedication, can a person attain celebrity status. Notwithstanding, what astonishes me the most is the fact that mass media plays a key role regarding how famous a person can be, since they can publish gossip that can affect the popularity of celebrities. In addition, not only has the media increased the exposure of celebrities, but it has also given them power. Hardly do we see celebrities who do not work in jobs unrelated to their talents that made them into stars. Many of them work in advertising different branches, since many people have trust in what they say. For instance, were an actress to use a certain brand of shampoo, many women would choose to use the same brand, regardless of whether it is a known product or not. On many occasions, celebrities also have the power to influence the audience in political decisions. Were a famous actor to support a politician, people would follow his ideas. Only in this way, could they increase their fame and credibility.
As far as the consequences of being in the public eye are concerned, I would say that the persistence of media attention from the likes of paparazzi could be uncomfortable and intrusive. Most celebrities are deeply concerned because they have neither privacy nor freedom to enjoy certain places. It goes without saying that the more famous a person is, the less privacy he has. Celebrities must be cautious and more often than not they have deep misgivings about their lives, particularly their families. In addition, seldom do we see a celebrity who lacks interest in his appearance, since he runs the risk of being skalted by fans and paparazzi. For them being the center of attention is of paramount importance, since otherwise their fame could wane.
Yours sincerely,
