According to psychology, the left part of the brain is responsible for logic and facts, and the right part of the brain is responsible for creativity and imagination. But in reality, the entire brain works together.

I think a clause in the middle about where the noise is coming from is confusing, removing it gives:
"Despite the noise about left-brained and right-brained, the brain is really a very cohesive unit"
Is that easier to understand?
"Pop psychology" = popular psychology (most of the psychology you read in books/magazines and on the internet. Academic journals would have psychology)
