Where a outer clothes
"上着" but not a coat or jacket.
"another layer?"
It's cold, so make sure to put on warm clothes and socks when you get up.
This is an odd sentence though. Something I'd be more likely to hear is:
It's cold today, so make sure to bundle up before going outside!
Okay. Thanks!
You also can say "It's cold so be sure to dress warm"
Okay. Thanks!
