Unfortunately,in the embassy I was asked to fill out a security form, since they thought my major was an special one regarding to my thesis title, so my visa issue processing might take a little longer than usual. There are many different ways to phrase such a long passage. This is based on the assumption that "processes" in the last sentence refers to your visa.
"Based on my thesis title, the embassy thought my major was special, so unfortunately, they asked me to fill out a security form which may cause my visa to take longer than usual to process. I'd like to inquire about the current status of my visa."
