하여 is adverb to express cause and effect
Also, 하여 is equivalent to 해서.
Ex) 나는 공부를 열심히 하여(해서) 서울대에 가기로 결심했다. (I decided to study hard and go to Seoul University.)
건강을 소홀리 하여(해서) 감기에 걸렸어요. (I neglected my health so I caught a cold.)
It is very difficult to explain the exact meaning of the word! sorry

When you conjugate 하다 with ~아/어 you get 하여 so what it means depends on the verb/adjective that you conjugated.
하여 is then further shortened to 해 which is what you mostly see (사랑해 행복해 etc). You usually see 하여 in formal texts or the dictionary.
