Do you call a mandarin “satsuma”?
Is “satsuma” very common?
I was surprised when I knew mandarins are sometimes called satsuma since that is the same name as old name of my home prefecture.
I want to talk about it to my American guests, but I wonder that is enough common for everyone to know “a satsuma is a mandarin”. Do you think I can say “as you know, the old name of this prefecture is same as a mandarin!” ?
