" I couldn’t do that again. " 是什麼意思


Since now I am being close to 50, I couldn’t find a job or a home either??


<Context>Back then, Richard had offered to put us into witness protection, but I declined when he said he couldn’t help us find a job or a home, and now being close to 50, I couldn’t do that again.

It means that he was not able to do that again (go under witness protection) since he was now too old for it.
