They are very similar words in English. In fact, I had to look it up.
“Continuous” refers more to the passage of time.”

Unfortunately, a lot of the difference is idiomatic and depends on what it sounds like in English.

For example there is a famous folk song called “a man of constant sorrow“, you cannot possibly say “a man of continuous sorrow“ (I think because the sorrow is not a time concept).

And example where the words are truly synonymous: “I am being constantly interrupted/I am being continuously interrupted“. Exact same meaning.

So if it relates to something that is happening in time, go with continuous. Otherwise, Don’t worry too much they are very closely synonyms.
