有關 英語 (美國)（英文） 的問題

Not only are people becoming more educated, but more people are becoming aware of it. 是什麼意思

I guess what the sentence means, but I cant understand why "are" is put before "people"... maybe in order to emphasize the latter sentence? please let me know this grammar and how to use it. Thank you.

If you put "are" after "people," it'll make it sound like there are creatures more than people who are becoming educated. That's the easiest way I can explain it
