不自然
In English, we normally don't say "I *have* started." Usually, you would just say "I started." A more natural sentence would be, "I started a diet a short while ago," or even more naturally, "I recently started a diet."

You'd usually say, "I started a diet a short while ago." Instead of just a short ago.
