He is/was arrested. 和 He gets/got arrested 的差別在哪裡?如果不好說明,請提供一些例句。
I think those two words is/get have a similar role in each sentence. But the meaning is a bit different. Right? For the native speakers, what is the main difference? Could you explain it in detail?

Hm, it depends on the word.
You can “get surprised” or “has been surprised”
“I got surprised when my friends visited for my birthday.”
“She has been surprised by him a lot. He’s good at surprises.”
You cannot “get dead” though. “She has been dead” sounds like half answer to a question.
A: I haven’t seen your grandma recently. I should say hi.
B: She has been dead for a while.
A: I’m sorry to hear that.

They all have the same feeling.
“He was arrested”
“He has been arrested”
“He got arrested”
“He is arrested” or “He gets arrested” feels more like you are retelling a story/event, like on crime tv or a news anchor. For example “Before he could kill again, he is arrested”

@somnus21 I meant, If I'd like to say
She is suprised, then instead of is, I can use gets suprised or has been suprised?
Or she is dead.
She gets dead.
She has been dead.
(I think second and third meanings sound weird, though.)

The difference lies in the aspect of action and the verb tense used.
1. **"He is/was arrested":**
- This construction uses the linking verb "is" or "was" and the past participle "arrested." It indicates a state or condition resulting from an action that has already taken place.
- Example: "He was arrested yesterday for theft."
2. **"He gets/got arrested":**
- This construction uses the verb "gets" or "got" in combination with the past participle "arrested." It implies a more dynamic, ongoing nature, and can convey a habitual action or a recent event.
- Example: "He got arrested every time he visited that area."
While both constructions involve the idea of being arrested, the first focuses on a completed action and its resultant state, while the second can convey a more habitual or ongoing occurrence.
