I am planning to study in the US (art college) next year (summer 2021), and I know the US has quite a serious problem with racism, but is it as serious as told in the news? As an asian, especially the current coronavirus spread I know many people hate asians and even physically attack asians. How is it like in the US to be an asian?

Americans do not hate people who are Asian. Americans are Asian and many many different cultures and races of people.
You will not get attacked.
You will be in a city or town that has a college and in a college town there will likely be people who are thoughtful and worth getting to know.
The USA is very big.
Different parts of the country have different kinds of ways.
Do you get to have a HOST
or someone from the college
help you get to know the college and the town?
I would ask the college if they have such a program.
Have a wonderful time!
