@pacificccoast1 instead of using the word “peaceful” I would use “peace”
“There was peace and calm: the clouds were floating slowly, the birds were singing nicely”

Another way is
"It was peaceful and calm. The clouds were floating slowly, the birds were singing nicely."
Also, don't use a colon (":") It will make people wonder if it's correct instead of focusing on what you are saying.
