It's not grammatically wrong. however you can just say the sentence without 'it's' like the given example above^
You can also try and say "I live in an apartment near the school" if you don't really need that it's high school

No you don't have to! you can just say 'I live in an apartment near OO school" :)

Well it actually depends 😅 depending on the context.
For example if you're gonna say you're gonna say which high school you went to
Meanwhile the 2nd paragraph, you can say it if you were to describe what kind of school you have
Because both sentence indicates that you're already out in that school because it's past tense. Is that what's you're trying to achieve?

If that's the question you don't have to add a~ you can just use the first sentence 😊
