@kiui_chan thank you for correct my sentence I appreciate it! But could you tell me the difference between mine and yours? I definitely should say “didn’t”not “couldn’t” cause that party happened before, right? X

@M3gan Yeah you’re correct! But didn’t could also work for a past tense situation as well as a present situation. Couldn’t is also the same thing as well so i’m guessing it is often more often. There really isn’t any difference between the two besides the spelling though.
