educational system in the UK, how does it work? What's the difference between degree and master's degree and what are the options afterwards beside a PhD?

In Italy you normally first have a 1st-level degree and then a 2nd-level degree, other nations might just have ONE cycle for the initial degree. Then there are 1-level master's degree and 2-level master's degree which I honestly don't really know shit about myself but I was wondering how things are divided in the UK

In the UK we have a 3-year long undergraduate degree - it can be 4 years is you do a course that involves a year abroad or a year in employment in your third year. After that, you can do a master's degree which is usually two years (some last only a year) and then you can apply for a PHD. In terms of the grading system, the grade every student should aim for is the "upper-second" which is a score between 60%-69% - it doesn't sound like much but the grading system in the UK is pretty tough so it can be hard to score above that! 70% + is called a "First" which is given to you if your work is exceptionally good! If you score below 60% then you get a "lower-second" which is alright, but definitely not worth the thousands of pounds you put towards your degree. It will also be harder for you to get a job with a "lower-second" degree.
