有關 中文 (簡體) 的問題

"Good afternoon" in Mandarin is “下午好!(台湾国语:午安!)” but is it really used often in day-to-day life? I know I'm not experienced enough in the language but I'm yet to hear someone say 下午好. What do you guys think? Let me know and share your thoughts on this.
