My type of girls are bbw and ssbbw aka ぽっちゃり in Japanese. I saw that there are some ladies like that in Japan but not many.

Are those type of girls popular in Japan or not really??

ぽっちゃり does not mean being obese. It's more like normal, average size. Even girls with BMI around 22 are often described as ぽっちゃり.
