sia is shortened form of sial but more polite and not considered as a curse.
(sial sounds rude and considered as a curse)
sia and sial is basically used to emphasize something.
its similar to the word "f*cking" that ppl nowadays use.
as for example if in english you say "im f*cking tired", in Malay you say "aku penat sial" (we use it at the end instead)
but the younger generation often use the word "sia" so they won't curse
p/s : only young generation usebthese words & pls prevent yourself from using the "si*l" word! :)

other possible meaning of sia is saya which is a Sabahan Slang means 'i'.Other from that,it's like one of sigh expression used at the end of a sentence but not as rude as sial.While,sial is a totally rude word.

@zoomi04 an advice just in case.. instead of prevent using "si*l", please DO NOT use it. It's really another level of cursing and honestly I hate it 😅

@astakonabaring umm no it's not.. there's no translation to si*l in english.. damn isn't that bad/worse compared to si*l
