Do you think language learning is ultimately translation practice?
I feel like with daily colloquial conversations, it’s easy to get familiar with common expressions without translating them in your head. But with longer sentences, formal text, abstract ideas, the writing process is almost always a mental translation . It’s harder to perceive the unnatural elements of your sentences. Or am I approaching it wrongly?
