“I like hot tea” is literally stating that you like hot tea, not putting emphasis on anything.
Whereas,
“I like my tea hot” is putting emphasis on “hot”, it means
“I don’t like my tea cold, I like it hot”
You are making sure the person knows HOW you like it, not the fact that you like it.
