I was wondering what the difference was between the words "mej" and "mig", even "dej" and "dig"?
I do know that dig and mig means you and me but sometimes I see the "mej" or "dej" spelling in the same sentence as the "mig" or "dig" ones......

@BritishBlankie
Most people prefer to spell it Mig and Dig while others prefer to spell it Mej and Dej
No difference more than the spelling.

What erorikoka Said is correct. Just know that mig and dig is considered more proper spelling and should be used i professional settings even though mej and dej is becoming more common. If you are unsure always use mig and dig as it is always appropriate in both formal and informal settings

I'll add one more thing.
In old folk songs and hymns etc that are written in a solemn or archaic style, the words may actually be pronounced as "mig", "dig" and "sig" rather than "mej", "dej" and "sej".
Also, the same thing goes for the 3rd person plural pronouns "de" (they) and "dem" (them) which are both pronounced "dom", except in the contexts I mentioned above. Since they sound the same in spoken Swedish, some swedes don't understand the difference between "de" and "dem" and use them interchangeably in writing, seemingly at random.

Another thing:
I think the ”mej” and ”dej” spellings are more common in the Southern half of Sweden.

@BritishBlankie “mej” and “dej” and “mig” and “dig” carry the same meaning but the first two are mostly seen in text messages and in informal texts while the latter is the correct written language of the word.
