Was 和 Be able to 的差別在哪裡？如果不好說明，請提供一些例句。

[ is, are ] は be動詞で、その過去形が[ was, were ]です。

I am a student.
I was a student.
We are students.
We were students.

able to は、『～することができる、～し得る、～が可能である、～する能力がある』と言う意味で
be動詞と一緒に使います。
be + able to

例えば、現在形で「私はピアノが弾ける(弾くことが出来る)」は
I can play the piano. です。

これを未来形で言う場合は
will と一緒には使えません。
× I will can play the piano.
(× You/We/She/He will can...)

その時に[can]ではなく[be able to]を使います。
◯ I will be able to play the piano.
(◯ You/We/She/He will be able to ....)

過去形で「〜出来た」の場合も
be を 過去形の was (または were )にして
I was able to play the piano before.
