@QLiu ohhh, I guess it would be a bit less awkward then.. But I still might say "you're using it too sparingly" or "you can/should use more" or maybe "you're not using enough"
Telling a person to not "be sparing" sounds a bit odd to me, but it's still understandable. And also "we (still) have a lot left" is all fine. Hope that helps :)

I think it's grammatical, but instead of "don't be so sparing" I think it would be more common to hear "don't worry! We have a lot left" or "go ahead and have/take more! We have a lot left" or even "you can have as much as you like!"

@eggyoki sorry the situation is my friend and i are working on something but he use the ingredient too sparingly. so i'm telling him to use more.
