Environmental problems are something that is often discussed in today's world. Some feel that the optimal solution is to raise fuel costs. In my opinion, it may help to some extent, however, a more holistic view is advisable.

On the one hand, increasing the price of fuel can help to some degree. In both developing and developed countries, private vehicles are becoming more common. More expensive fuel costs would discourage citizens from taking a long trip and encourage using other transportation such as walking, bicycle and ride sharing.
