Hi, everyone, I'm here for help again...😥
Here's a sentence from a book I'm reading now.
"The kitchen trash was so full that there wasn't any room for the carton, so I put the it on top, picked up the trash, and beat it out the front door to empty everything into the garbage can outside."
I am quite confused with this phrase"beat it out ", I didn't find any suitable definitions on dictionaries. I guess it's like kicking the thing out, but I'm not sure. So could someone tell me what it means, and why the author uses it.. Thanks!!!
