I went to a flight attendant and asked for a quiet seat. The flight was packed, so that was a no-go. The steward came to my rescue by reminding Woody the woodpecker that silence is golden after midnight. Woody wised up. He threw me a dirty *look, but I did get some sleep.
Is it okay to replace "look" with "glance" in this context?

You can, but “dirty look” is the common collocation.
