Well for my personal experience it’s normal but that’s because I don’t know how to compare it, I do must add that growing up my parents make sure to give me as much of a perspective of the world as possible.
I went to science and art camps, I also did multiple sports, and meet kids from different socio-economic backgrounds, I had access to internet from a young age and went to a lot of cultural events.
But that’s for my case, I know my elementary school classmates had a very different childhood.
I had a group of friends that lived in a camp for kids who’s parents couldn’t take good care of them or didn’t had the time to do it.
I also met rich kids who’s parents would take them to vacations to other countries, or they where straight up originally from other country.
It was and still is very common to see kids from middle school going around my city alone or with no adults around, but that’s because comparing to other cities in Mexico, we still have some security in those matters.
And it’s also common to let kids go do small shopping to near by stores, maybe not so much now but in my times it was.
Hope to have answer your question.

@Daniah_Colomathi I mean if you only talk about language then a lot, from grammar to sentence structure, I truly don’t remember what I found difficult while learning since I learn it at a young age and as I mentioned before I had access to the internet very young so I became very immerse in English since then.
Probably pronunciation and spelling are the things that took me more time, I still can’t spell as a native English speaker does and most of the time when I don’t remember how a word is spell I just recall it with Spanish pronunciation I don’t know how to explain it better tho and there are words that I still find difficult to pronounce or I straight up don’t know the pronunciation.
I also must add that Mexico implemented English as a course in school, now it’s pretty much implemented in all schools to have English since elementary school to college.
Now what I would recommend you for Spanish is to do immersion, from speaking to listening to reading, all the immersion you can even if you don’t understand it, you’ll start to see patterns and repetition of words, also for pronunciation make sure to chose what accent are you going to learn since it can change a lot and may confuse you.
Hope this helps
