@Se7en_ If the 2 syllable adjective ends in y, change the y to an ier. Example: happy, happier; silly, sillier. Otherwise, use more.
Exceptions: crueler, gentler, narrower, simpler, stupider, quieter
If you're not sure what to do, just use "more". "more gentle" and "more narrow" and "more happy" are fine.
Some websites say you can say "handsomer" and "commoner" but I personally would not. I would say "more handsome" and "more common". I think this might be different in the UK vs US.
Also for more good and more bad, you have to say better and worse.

we don't say "clearlyest". clearly is an adverb. We can't add "-er" or "-est" to adverbs.
"friendly" is an adjective, even though it looks like an adverb. So we can add "-er", "-est"

Friendlier = she is friendlier than she was a few years ago
More friendly = she is more friendly now
They mean the same thing
These are called comparative adjectives: friendly, friendlier or more friendly, friendliest
With some adjectives you can use xxx-ier/er or more xxx.
Do you mean clear?
Clear, clearer/ more clear, clearest
It’s a clear day.
Today is clearer than yesterday. Today is more clear than yesterday (this sounds a bit odd but I think you can say it)
Today is the clearest day we’ve had in weeks.
I know! It’s confusing!

@paulf9765 thank you very much. I heard some Americans say baddest, that is wrong in written English right?
- 英語 (美國)
@Se7en_ yes that's wrong in written English. "baddest" is slang. It doesn't mean "most bad". in fact, it means really good.
