Generally this is fine, but it would be more natural to break it down into several sentences. This is only my opinion, but it is mainly an issue of style.
Everyone associates the Carpathians with Romania, and it is true that the largest portion is found in Romania. It is a long mountain range that extends throughout half of Europe, going through several countries as far as the Czech Republic and Austria. The highest peak is the Tatra mountain, located on the border between Slovakia and Poland, with a height of 2600m.
