有點不自然
I believe "I can" would sound a little more natural (or rather less facetious...as in "could you, really?").

@QLiu @riac007 Yes, but it can also be used, as in this context, to express "possibility" as in
✔ I could see you next week.
Hence,
✔ I could genuinely relate...
means that you have the capacity to sympathize with that person's ordeal even though you might choose not to AT THIS TIME.
