How would a native speaker say these?
I seriously want to speak like a native!🙇♂️
A: It’s usual in Japan that women walk alone at night. Even late at night, like at 3 a.m., I often saw elderly people walking alone.
B: Why are you out there at that hour?
A: It’s in my student days. I’d often come home from kicking it at that hour then. Also when I was in uni, my part-time job started at 4am.
A: 夜女性が1人で歩いてるのは日本ではよくあることだよ。深夜でもね。3時とかだとお年寄りがよく散歩してるのを見るよ。
B: なんでそんな時間にあなたは外にいるの?
A: 学生の頃は遊びから帰る時はそのくらいの時間になることがよくあったからね。大学の頃のバイトは朝4時からだったし。

Hi there! I hope I can help you on your quest haha. Here is how I would say this:
A: It’s TYPICAL in Japan FOR women TO walk alone at night. Even late at night, like at 3 AM, I often SEE elderly people walking alone.
B: Why are you out there at that TIME?
A: Well, in my (specific school period: like college, high school, middle school) days, I’d often come home after hanging out around that time. Also, when I was college, my part time job started at 4 AM, so me being outside early kind of just stuck.
For the first sentence, I changed it to present tense because your sentence in Japanese uses present tense. Also, B seems to be asking why you are still going out late at night, which would be consistent with present tense.
For the second sentence, yours is totally perfect! I would just say it how I wrote it personally. Yours is perfectly natural so don’t worry!
For the third sentence, when we talk about our days as a student, we often say specifically which specific school period we were in, unless it’s implied. For example;
“During my high school days, I’d party all night.”
“When I was in college, I studied really hard all the time.”
Also, I added a little more to the end because I feel like it needed more elaboration. It feels very well implied in your original Japanese, but in English, I felt it needed a little more elaboration.
I hope that helped!! :)

That's a huge help! Thank you so much!!!
I have three questions: If I want to emphasize the womem, even if there are men walking as well as women, should I use "for" or should I add "too" or "even"?
What is your impression of the difference between "university" and "college"?
Also is it still OK to use "being" even though I don't go out at that time anymore?

Of course!!
1. “Even” would be the best choice! You could say, for example, “There are a ton of people walking around at 3 AM, even women!”
2. I think in the UK and Australia, they typically say “uni” or “university.” In America, we say “college” when we talk about going to a university. That’s how it feels to me anyways!
3. I apologize! I think I misinterpreted what I was reading in Japanese. I am still learning haha. In that case, you would not use words like “being.” You would use the past tense.
Now that I know you don’t go out at that time now, I’d change the first sentence to:
“Even late at night, like at 3 AM, you can see elderly people walking alone.”
I’d also change the last sentences to:
“Well, in high school, I’d often come home after hanging out around that time. Also, when I was in college, my part time job started at 4 AM, so I saw a lot of what went on at night.”
I hope that helps!

Thank you for the very helpful explanations and corrections!
My first sentence is still a little different from what I think it should be, so I've been thinking again, how about this three?
It’s normal in Japan that women walk alone at night.
It happens normally in Japan that women walk alone at night.
It happens normally in Japan for women to walk alone at night.

Of course, any time! :)
Of the three, the first is the best and most grammatically correct, in my opinion.
