I'm not doing what they are doing, essentially. It could mean something else but it's fairly contextual.

@__EleanoR Little word to the wise, don’t say “ni****” if you aren’t black, ESPECIALLY around black people. It’s a slur and considered one of the worst ones in English.
To answer your question, it’s mostly contextual, but it basically means “I’m not doing what you’re doing.”

It's true that nigger has a very negative reputation in the US. But it depends on the people you interact with and their upbringing. If you want to use it do it with friends and preferably without a hard r sound. Also I've never heard of anyone being offended by singing rap lyrics even if they are white.

@__EleanoR You did not offend anyone, many people would not be offended if you said it aloud either if you look African.
But it's probably better to err on the side of caution until you immerse yourself in the American black subculture. Especially in America where many people carry firearms it can be somewhat dangerous. Slavery is still an extremely sensitive topic.
